This is one of my favorite photographs. A happy scene played out many times over at Sherman's Bar in San Diego California.
This group of Marines have just been released from 2 weeks of quarantine. Standard treatment when returning from Okinawa after WW II.

From left to right is my Father-in-Law then Dan Grasso from New York City, Keith Reynolds from Hazard Kentucky, D. Rice from Roanoke Virginia and John Jay Smith known as Smitty.
