EARLY ELECTION 2008 REPORT

Early this morning my wife tried to vote. The wait in the long line would of made her late for work. And we live in a small South Central Pennsylvanian town! She will return after she finishes work. I found 6 people before me when I showed up. The couple before me were turned away. They checked the "UPDATE VOTER REGISTRATION" box at the PENNDOT site. Unfortunately they were not registered to vote before that. The Election Judge called around and he had to turn them away. They were offered a registration form to vote in the next election and they took advantage of that. Most, like these two are on a 1st name basis with the election workers. Sad to see people turned away. I don't know who they were going to vote for. Boy oh Boy did I want to ask though! It seemed improper to do so.

I was the 82nd voter and more people were driving up as I left. Speaking of driving, I'm to report to the local Obama office at 10:30. I'm to drive a 20yr old Private in the U.S. Army to his polling station in another neigboring town. I'm blogging from the libray now. I'll try to be back on around 3pm. The library is getting repeated calls from people who don't know where to vote. So, the phone calls to Dems that I will be making today to get out the vote may serve to inform some people on where to vote. If you are thinking of pitching in to day, GIT GOING! Just by making a few calls you can make a bigger difference than maybe you think.

For an inspiring story from an early voter you can go here - "I Voted Early in Cleveland Ohio...and here's my story".

And here's a repost from the Primary -
"The Best Get Out And Vote Message I Ever Read"

By Dante Zappala

On April 26th, 2004, a day before the local primary elections, Sgt. Sherwood Baker was killed in Iraq. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was my brother.

Sherwood’s death brought the war home to his entire extended network of family and friends. None of us thought this powerful strong man could fall. We were wrong. The day after my brother died, amidst the disbelief and the sorrow, my mother went to our local polling station and cast her vote. Some may have told her it was futile or seen it as meaningless. After all, it was merely a primary. Sherwood, however, would have expected nothing less. He knew the definition of citizenship.

I’ve got hundreds of pictures of my brother. I can stare at them for hours. Maybe it’s mental torture, maybe it’s just part of the process, but I’m looking at the inflection of every smile, the direction of the creases on his face. I’m looking at every pixel for a hint about how this came to pass.

I’ve found a lot. We shared happiness on his 30th birthday three years ago. We shared pride and lots of tears when we were at Fort Dix before he shipped off.

His face is stern and unwavering in those pictures from Dix. Sherwood wasn’t bitter about being deployed.

He had reservations; people in their right minds don’t want to go to war, especially when they have a family. But he had made an oath before God to serve and he took that seriously. He was truthful and, above all, hopeful—a patriot in the truest sense.

The day Sherwood shipped off to Iraq, I knew that for our family, life was forever changed. In all I’ve done since that day, I’ve tried to maintain his sense of truth and hope. And since his death, I’ve started listening. I’ve learned that the way we talk to each other is as important as what we talk about. I believe the war has, in fact, affected almost every American family, only many have no idea how.

We all go to bed with the full support of our troops in mind and their safety in our prayers. But debates rage around dinner tables and in living rooms across the country. The righteousness of our opinions has created so much anger between us. We’re red in the face proving each other wrong. I’ve traveled the country, I’ve been in dialogue with all sorts of folks—activists, military families, politicians, people on the street. I feel a kinship, even with my supposed enemies, because we have all made the same choice to participate in this democracy.

We have watched together as some of our most spirited citizens, living otherwise humble lives in America, have been called to war. We’ve watched together as their lives are stolen away.

It is not my intention to tell you who to vote for.

We have all been victims of the usual fear mongering, spin and half truths that accompany the campaign season. I understand the propensity to want to shut it down. Television ads are either mindless or infuriating. Candidates are eager to push buttons, so we build walls. ‘They deserve each other,’ we might tell ourselves. ‘Why should I vote anyway?’

Letting apathy take hold, however, will only spell defeat. We will not be defeated by one party or the other, but by an ideology of hopelessness. But of even more importance, staying on the sidelines betrays the nobility of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Believe what you will about the war in Iraq -- about the pretext, the current situation and the solutions. However, understand that every Soldier and every Marine who has died in Iraq did so under the banner of our democracy. ‘Support our troops’ means get out and vote. While we may indulge in our cynicism as we debate particular points of withdrawal strategies, fine men and women who love their country are being disenfranchised by death.

And we have the luxury of walking to the polls and casting a vote. Be it a vote of conscience, a vote of passion or a vote of frustration, by God, we can vote.

Do your duty as citizens. Go to the polls. Pull the lever with an open heart. And carry with you the promises of the young men and women who can no longer do it themselves.

SENATOR OBAMA IS NOMINATED BY HUMAN

1st, thanks to all who chimed in on the last post. PT Cruiser, Beltway Bastard, fragtal & John at Left in Aboite, I respect everybody's opinion. I've decided to support an Obama/Biden ticket. I not only took you alls, but views of others into account. Not the least of which came from the Sick Far Right opposed to an Obama Presidency. The hatred, falsifications, Assassination Attempts and threats of such also were a contributing factor. I don't know if the Hate from the Sick Far Right is good Karma to base my vote for an Obama Biden ticket and but like with a whole lotta things in my Life, I'll learn that farther down the Trail. McCain's pick as VP was another factor.

I want to make a difference. A positive one. I think I still can with Obama as President. I know I can't with a McCain Administration. If the Evil Ones win, both will be just tools for my Ideological and Physical Enemies. I can't give them any chance. I just can't. For sure, I'll not only have to hold my nose when I vote, but some type of anti nausea. Or maybe I'll just purge with ipecac before hand. Maybe in front of the local Mcain office.

2 days ago the local Obama Campaign chair left a message asking me to pitch in. I guess that will entail urging Hillary fans to vote for an Obama/Biden ticket. In for a penny in for a pound I guess.

Peace.

Losing The Internet

For the Human Family anyway. Today will be my last post for a while. At midnight Comcast Cable and Internet will be cast off. This along with the local phone disconnect will save the Human Family $150.00 a month. We now live in the Woods and shall be enjoying Spring and Summer to the fullest. There are many things I have to do to the Old Place to get it ready for sale. In between removing the dirt that has built up at the new place, for it has not been lived in a many a year, I shall try to stop at the Library and Blog when I can. I cannot play vids or other media there. To many pervies spoiled it for everybody else.

As for the Political Scene, I will rely on the 99% Solution. That is, anything I hear from the MSM by and by will be BS 99% of the time. On my peeks I see the MSM is still promoting the Rev. Wright crap, while ignoring Hillary's ties to extreme Right Wing Religious Groups. And as per Protocol not much about Armageddonist Rev. Hagee and other Blasphemers fully supporting McCain. I fear that the American Public will continue it's Sheep like behavior and fall for the Clinton/McCain MSM Launched BullShit. If Sen. Obama does not get the Nomination through the Dirty and Crooked means the Clinton/McCain Team will use, then I will revert to my 1st Choice, Rep. Ron Paul. Don't try to tell me any of that crap about throwing my vote away. Hillary and Sen. McNuts supporters are the one throwing there Vote away. And as for any Hillary supporters out there, You will be to blame for what comes down the line. And I save a Special Fuck You to all of Yous. Yous have repeated Lie for Lie what the Clinton/Mcain Team has said. Time to Growup And Face Reality.

Honestly, who do you think represents the Liberal Principles? Honestly, who stands a way better chance of Bringing The Troops Home? And since many seem to vote not on issues but for stuff the MSM wants you to focus on I ask Honestly, who has better Character? I ask Parents, Honestly, if you absolutely had to, which Family would you entrust your Child(ren) to?

These Two?

This Family?

Or this Family?

I take my leave with this Poem that my Good Friend Roundearther sent me today -

"For Eli"

"Eli came back from Iraq
and tattooed a teddy bear onto the inside of his wrist
above that a medic with an IV bag
above that an angel
but Eli says the teddy bear won't live
and I know I don't know but I say, "I know"
cause Eli's only twenty-four and I've never seen eyes
further away from childhood than his
eyes old with a wisdom
he knows I'd rather not have
Eli's mother traces a teddy bear onto the inside of my arm
and says, "not all casualties come home in body bags"
and I swear
I'd spend the rest of my life writing nothing
but the word light at the end of this tunnel
if I could find the fucking tunnel
I'd write nothing but white flags
somebody pray for the soldiers
somebody pray for what's lost
somebody pray for the mailbox
that holds the official letters
to the mothers,
--------------fathers,
--------------------sisters,
and little brothers
of Micheal 19... Steven 21... John 33
how ironic that their deaths sound like bible verses
the hearse is parked in the halls of the high school
recruiting black, brown and poor
while anti-war activists
outside walter reed army hospital scream
100, 000 slain
as an amputee on the third floor
breathes forget-me-nots onto the window pain
but how can we forget what we never knew
our sky is so perfectly blue it's repulsive
somebody tell me where god lives
cause if god is truth god doesn't live here
our lies have seared the sun too hot to live by
there are ghosts of kids who are still alive
touting M16s with trembling hands
while we dream ourselves stars on Survivor
another missile sets fire to the face in the locket
of a mother who's son needed money for college
and she swears she can feel his photograph burn
how many wars will it take us to learn
that only the dead return
the rest remain forever caught between worlds of
shrapnel shatters body of three year old girl
to
welcome to McDonalds can I take your order?
the mortar of sanity crumbling
stumbling back home to a home that will never be home again
Eli doesn't know if he can ever write a poem again
one third of the homeless men in this country are veterans
and we have the nerve to Support Our Troops
with pretty yellow ribbons
while giving nothing but dirty looks to their outstretched hands
tell me what land of the free
sets free its eighteen-year-old kids into greedy war zones
hones them like missiles
then returns their bones in the middle of the night
so no one can see
each death swept beneath the carpet and hidden like dirt
each life a promise we never kept
Jeff Lucey came back from Iraq
and hung himself in his parents basement with a garden hose
the night before he died he spent forty five minutes on his fathers lap
rocking like a baby
rocking like daddy, save me
and don't think for a minute he too isn't collateral damage
in the mansions of washington they are watching them burn
and hoarding the water
no senators' sons are being sent out to slaughter
no presidents' daughters are licking ashes from their lips
or dreaming up ropes to wrap around their necks
in case they ever make it home alive
our eyes are closed
america
there are souls in
the boots of the soldiers
america
fuck your yellow ribbon
you wanna support our troops
bring them home
and hold them tight when they get here"

THIS PENNSYLVANIAN SAYS

FOR

Now I'm off to pitch in with the Good People at the Chambersburg Obama For President Office. Let's not forget that just 2 months ago Hillary was 20 points ahead on some polls. Since then my fellow Pennsylvanians have taken a good look at both candidates. Today we will see what Pennsylvanians are made of. We are truly the Keystone State. Let's show them what is possible.

FOX NEWS, "WE REDACT, YOU DECIDE"!

(UPDATE BELOW WITH VIDEO OF RON PAUL SUPPORTERS HOUNDING HERR HANNITY AS HE WALKS INTO THE RADISSON HOTEL IN MANCHESTER NH JAN 7TH 2008)
As many of you know Fox News excluded Rep. Ron Paul from their "Debate" in New Hampshire today. A lot of Dems and quite a few number of progressive bloggers take the opinion that their candidates should not even appear on Fox. I think that if one is afraid to take on Fox News and their propagandists head on, they don't have any business being President or anything above Dogcatcher. I have stated this at a few other places. The Phil Donahue vs. O'Reilly interview is an example of how to take on the Bullies. As Rep. Ron Paul has shown, he can take on the Bush Regime's Main mouthpiece head on. They have tried to embarrass him with their loaded questions and usual tactics. Rep. Paul hung in there and has more than held his own. In learning that Fox News was going to ban him from the "Debate" Rep. Ron Paul had this to
say, "They are scared of me and don't want my message to get out, but it will,"They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative." Even if you don't like Rep. Ron Paul, you know that quote is the truth.
In Ron Paul, you find a man who is not afraid of Fox News. And that's the Truth too.

The good news is that the NH GOP pulled it's sponsorship from the "Debate". Fox News and it's advertisers have been flooded with a huge wave of negative reaction.

What has been the response from Fox News? Why, just don't even mention him. Now, I know that many just can't stomach even the thought of tuning in to Fox News, so for that on air opinion many will have to take my word for it. However in "Print" there is irrefutable proof.

AP, whose wire is beamed around the globe, released a report concerning the Wyoming Caucus (oh did the MSM forget to tell you there was one?).

This, from source #1 is the 1st 3 paragraphs - "Don't forget Wyoming. It's been overlooked in the hoopla surrounding Thursday's Iowa caucuses and next week's New Hampshire primary, but Wyoming Republicans will caucus Saturday and choose delegates to the national convention in September.

Candidates have paid little attention to the state, though.
Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul have passed through since September. Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain have not."

This, from source #2 - "Don't forget Wyoming.

Now compare this from Fox News "YOU DECIDE '08" - "Don’t forget about Wyoming.
It’s been overlooked in the hoopla surrounding Thursday’s Iowa caucuses and next week’s New Hampshire primary, but Wyoming Republicans will caucus Saturday and choose delegates to the national convention in September.
Candidates have paid little attention to the state, though.
Only Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter have passed through since September."

Hey now. What happened to Ron Paul? And why no mention of those who did not show up to ask the Citizens of Wyoming to vote for them? The only conclusion to make is, per Bush Regime protocol concerning viable political threats, Ron Paul has become an UnPerson. So Orwellian. So present day American.

And as per Ron Paul Protocol, he, and we his supporters will not take this laying down. Tonight, in response to the Fox News "Debate" the Ron Paul campaign bought an hour of television time at Manchester television station MCAM TV-23. Airing opposite the clown show at Fox News, which by the way was held at the Radisson. As opposed to the fake Town Hall Forums we have seen put on by everyone from Bush to Killer Hillary and the Pentagon, This Town Meeting was made up of undecided voters. (I for one thought CNN should of pulled a switcheroo on those attending their last debate. Making the Dem voters watch the Repubs and vice versa. Now that would of been NEWS!)
Now I got to admit, I've only watched the 1st part and I think there were a few Ron Paul supporters there, but comparing what was happening at Fox News at the same time, well, it was like watching the difference between Romper Room and uhmmmm, uhm a gathering of Adults engaged in discourse with the aim of deciding whether a particular Candidate is worthy enough of their votes. (I really tried to come up with a comparison TV show, if you think of one, let me know and I'll consider a rewrite on this portion).

In addition to Ron Paul appearing before the New Hampshire voters, the Ron Paul Blimp was scheduled to do a hover over the Radisson during the Fox Clown Show. I also heard there was an impromptu demonstration by dozens of Ron Paul supporters in front of the Radisson.(I want video dammit!)

Now if you are interested, you can watch real voters ask direct genuine questions to a Presidential candidate, Fox News and the Bush Regime would like to turn into an UnPerson, right here - Part One and Part Two. Now I warn you, don't expect any Pearls vs Diamonds question. Besides we all (or should?) know what standard Rep. Ron Paul believes in. Gold Baby. Gold.
