MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY CHANNUKA, CHEERFUL KWANZA AND PEACE TO ALL

Well I have been pretty busy with everything. As with a lot of other bloggers I have not put up much in the last few days due to the Holidays.
I'am using a Machine Roundearther was good enough to loan me. Some pics of lil Joeseph I can not post because they are saved on my own which will be sent to repair soon.

Hope everyone is safe and well. This time next year I want a lot more of us home. Where we all should be at this time of year.

Tomorrow it is a drive to my brother Richard's and his partner Steve's place for Christmas. We will be away for a couple of days. I hope to post at least once more this year.

A Few Words on my "Friendlies"

Friendlies are my links to blogs by people who I respect and mostly agree with. Kind and gentle people all. Yes I do read other blogs with completely opposite views than mine. For the same reason I sometimes watch Fox, Pat Robertson and other hate filled people. Know thy enemy.
From watching Pat Robertson and others of his irreligous ilk one can hear the chant weeks before O'Reilly and gang picks it up. I always watch or read them on a empty stomach.

Well enough about them and that.

If you have not perused my friendlies I urge you to do so. Not all are political in nature. Some are just sweet gentle people. All actually care about you, I and the shape of the World when they leave it. And here is my introductions-

A Glass of Sheri - A progressive Lady that puts up great daily political toons mixed in with a weekly rant. A take no prisoners attitude with a healthy curiosity.

all that i've got - A sweet gentle young Pakistan lady with a heart of gold and the wisdom of a mid-lifer. Posts poems and such that always reminds me of things that I need reminded of.

Antony Lowenstein - A Jewish Aussie who is anti-Zionist and pro-Peace. His articles also appear in Aussie newsapers and mags. Such outspokeness and garnered him death threats and character assassinations. A bit of a high and mighty attitude but can still admit it when he is wrong.

Cathie From Canada - A very open minded Lady from a Country that being progressive is the norm. Mostly posts on the American Political scene and some funny stuff.

Dancewater - A blog that seems to have fallen by the wayside. Last post was Nov. 2nd. I will wait till the the beginning of next year to delete the link. Posts News not found on the MSM.

Flight of The Dragonfly - A single mom with a beautiful child. A veteran of the Armed services who posts personal, funny, and life learning experiences. She makes me laugh and cry. Sometimes at the same time.

Left Veggie Drunk - Another Aussie who post mostly political stuff. Young and funny. Just the language cracks me up sometimes. Even if I don't understand the lingo. 1st person I want to go to the local Pub with if I ever make it down under.

Pensees sur les USA - A Frenchman who married an American who posts his best stuff while sober. A differant angle that one should look at least once in a while.

And my 2 new links are - PA04Blue - A fellow Pennsylvanian who helped color the state in '04. A Democrat who refuses to be taken for granted. Read his post of Dec. 3rd "Help save what's left of our Democracy." He has the priorities straight.

Me Here - Another Pakistani who I hooked up with via all that i've got. 1st thing I noticed was the humbleness of their blog names. Posts personal stuff that are very insightful. Funny I don't speak Pakistani and have not determined Fahd's sex. Also the inspiration of this particular post. Why? Well you just gonna have to click on Me Here's post of today to find out.

Peace to all, your Fellow Human

WAVES

Off to a great adventure. The pad we stayed at is on the left. Click on pics to enlarge.

My son Joseph. 1st on his own 2 feet look at the beach.

And a tumble soon after. mmmm what is this stuff?

He is a big boy. He only lets me hold the hand when he needs it. Like coming down the dune.

Alan. Big Ocean. Big Man. Waiting for Big Fish.

Lil Joe, just taking it all in.

Sometimes, it's all about scale. A classic, I say.

Triple scale with triple angle. Good shot.

Steve getting ready to fish.

This ring of a shell was still spongy and had a pink tinge. Caught both our eye. Lil Joe got to it 1st. Being low as its advantages.

Molly, Lil Joe, Human, Steve and Alan.

This is after I changed him after he got wet from the surf. . He's a fast learner.

OBX REDUEX.
PART ONE

I Have only been to the Outer Banks once before. My wife and I stayed at a B&B
in Ocracoke for 4 days before we were married around 4 years ago.. On the way down we stayed at the Arrow Inn($40.00 with the coupon from the travel guide picked up at the Va. Info center microwave, mini fridge & comfortable) right near Langley AFB. When we arrived the Clerk at the hotel let us know that the AFB was having an Air Show that day. We quickly set up our room and arrived at the AFB in time to see the Blue Angels perform. As far as I know they were breaking a lot of rules as far as permissible maneuvers around crowds. In other words the show was HOT! Barrel Rolls right over the crowd! More Barrels 50' above the deck over the runway! All as close as I have ever been to an Air Show. My first one was I was 4 years old at White Sands Missile Base where we were stationed way back. I was on my Daddy's shoulders when the Blue Angels snuck up from the rear 200' over my little head. Wings tips 12" apart. Blew my little mind.

I’ am a history freak and as you can imagine Hampton Roads is pure pleasure to me. One of my dreams was to take the Bay tour of the Atlantic fleet. A wish fulfilled aboard the Miss Hampton II.

On this trip Lil Joe and I just passed on thru, for with a 16mo old it is IMPERATIVE one stops every 2hrs. I just don't know why he doesn't like to be strapped in for hours on end. Poor lil guy. He stayed a sleep the 1st 2 hours, then we stopped and ate at Cracker Barrel. Nice big parking lot where he can run around. The front has a covered walkway that he runs up and down after we eat. A Baby changing station in the MENS room. A small shop where for some reason we always end up at the toy section. A good stop of a hour and half later and then it is back on the road.

Next stop was Newport News State Park. We parked right near the Ranger Station. It has a Lake or an inlet . A great safe place for more running around and another feed for the Lil guy.

We arrive in Waves about 6pm. It was very dark and the St. signs were very hard to read.
With Daddy's cell phone we are talked the rest of the way in.

There to meet us were five friends, Roundearther, Steve, Gary, Alan and Molly. 6 guys and a girl. Now now, Molly's a Pit Bull and Roundearther's close friend.

The house was very well appointed and comfortable. With just 2 full days on the OBX we were lucky to have a fine day when we awoke.

It was Lil Joe's 1st trip to the beach as a walker and tumbler. He was enjoying it very much. I saw the epitome of awe all over his face. I whipped out my Dig. Vid Cam and staring having trouble right away. It got messed up some how. Lil Joe and Roundearther wandered a bit off and while I was trying to check the cam out they got a Lil to close to the water and you guessed it Lil joe got a Lil wave on his ankle. That shocked him so much he fell into the water. Roundearther picked him up real fast. Balling and just a gushing tears I got to him and hugged him tight(feeling guilty). I had 2 layers of everything on him and if it wasn't for his shoes which were soaked through we could of stayed. With about 5 minutes on the beach we had to go back to the digs. Not far but what a hassle. Back on the beach(Note chango outfit?) he was pretty scared of the surf, but after awhile he calmed down and we had a blast. He loves to pick up shells. And he puts them back. Right where he found them. He only kept one. That is one of 2 that we took home. Hey I get to take one too! I'am not selfish. Ok I'am but this was for my wife.

Most of the pics Roundearther took using my HP R707 (Hey I know, but it was on Black Friday sale along with a free Epson printer that impresses me. So far.)

The next day the weather turned very windy and our only outing was a short one to Pea Island which I never stopped at before. What a great bird viewing area. I'll definitely stop there again. We also went shopping. The sales are very good in the off season. I would of bought a 2 piece luggage set at $ 49.99(Reg. $79.99 each) but I knew we would not have room in the car on the return trip, because Roundearther and Molly were coming with us. Next time I'll rent a big car. The deals are worth it.

We set back at 10:30 the next day and after dropping off Roundearther and Molly(Taking breaks at Cracker Barrell and Newport News Park and Roundearther's) we got home about 8pm.

A very full day. What a great trip. With a bunch of great guys, lovable Molly.
And a hearty thanks to all. Especially to Lil Joe for being the Bestest Boy in the Road Trip Category.

"Ain't nothing like coming home". Quote from unknown WW II veteran(remember to click to enlarge photo)

This is one of my favorite photographs. A happy scene played out many times over at Sherman's Bar in San Diego California.
This group of Marines have just been released from 2 weeks of quarantine. Standard treatment when returning from Okinawa after WW II.

From left to right is my Father-in-Law then Dan Grasso from New York City, Keith Reynolds from Hazard Kentucky, D. Rice from Roanoke Virginia and John Jay Smith known as Smitty.

ABOUT THE POST BELOW

Okay, I screwed up. What happened was I tried to post the article and got a "could not transfer, could not read html tags" or something like that. So, I went to the edit page to delete and the article was not there. I then went to front page and the article did not post. I then thought I shouldn't post it anyway, for the reasons below. While Human slept the Evil Blog Fairy put it on the front page. Since A guest has commented I won't reformat it like I would of liked.

It is a very important article about the ties that bind these criminals together. I have not posted anything from MAD COW MORNING NEWS before because the site deals mainly with the 911 conspiracy, and I wanted to post my own thoughts, theories and personal conclusions in a comprehensive article and only then introduce some sites and other reference links. The 911 controversy has attracted a lot of people who are either crazy, nefarious or are Psy-Operatives.
So it is important to separate the wheat from the chaff carefully. I do not want to quote a truth from a site and then find a "link" or other page that ties it all up with "Bat Boy" and the "Spiders from Mars".

I guess it is now incumbent on me to post my own 911 article and will do so in the near future. In the meantime I urge you to visit Daniel Hopsicker's MAD COW MORNING NEWS http://www.madcowprod.com/

I suggest you watch all the videos and read some archive material. Also for people who still read books a very good one is Hopsicker's BARRY AND THE BOYS. If you wanna find how long the string that ties and binds that is.
